All we are is skin and bones trained to get along

I was just thinking that I'm so jealous of my friends who are going on exciting vacations this summer while I'm here working my ass off, except I'm not jealous at all, because I get to be here.  This experience has been amazing, and I wouldn't trade it.

It's strange to be around so many people that I like, people who are smart and caring and have such interesting things to say about so many different facets of everything.  Or something.  This is really hard to explain to someone who's never been here, is what they say, and I guess I understand that.

Tonight some of my girls gathered in the hall and sang "Hey Soul Sister" and "Fix You" while one of them played the ukelele, and they are so beautiful and sweet and talented, and I feel so blessed to be here and to watch them be themselves and try to explain to each other what this experience means to them.  It's magic, I guess.
