They had lights inside their eyes

Somewhere in the deep dark depths of my mind I like to think that models have insecurities too.  I've always envied girls with a small group of best friends that they do everything with and even start to dress a little bit like and now I think maybe I've got that and it's really nice but also slightly smothering.  Why does it take tea so long to get to a drinkable temperature?  I want a boyfriend.  But don't tell H because I don't want him to be right.  That's silly, isn't it?  I only have five more days of classes before reading week and finals.  And two weeks till I'm home for winter break.  This first semester has gone by so fast.  And things have changed so much.  It's so strange, isn't it, how fast things change?  I feel like that's something that I say all the time.

The revolution starts in a sea of paper cups

I keep starting things with "hi from college" like I'm at summer camp, but that's not right, is it?  Because this is basically permanent now.  This is my life, and it's weird that it's not really feeling weird anymore.  You know what else is weird?  That it never feels like a week night here.  It's really strange to be living with my friends.  Also, I would like the weather to realize that it's fall soon.

I've been thinking a bit about families and differences and diversity in small ways and also big ways and about luck and privilege and opportunity and who I am and who I could've been had I been born somewhere else or to someone else or just been born someone else.  Does that make any sense?  Sometimes I get the feeling that I've gotten so twisted around inside my own head that I'm suddenly speaking a different language and that's why everyone is looking at me so strangely.

I just deleted someone on Facebook and I literally clicked "unfriend" and I would have felt slightly bad about it except after I clicked it I noticed that he's a Republican so, no remorse there.

Ten thousand drunken kids in a field can't be wrong

Right now I am making a mix cd for Michelle called "No Nickelback in College" because really, if I have any influence on anyone from high school, I want it to be that they shouldn't waste time listening to Nickelback when there is so much more out there.  Which is the way I tend to think about a lot of things.  And then I end up wasting my time anyway.  Isn't there a quote about wasted time, and how if you're enjoying it then it's not really wasted?

Here is a list of things that make me happy:
1. Van Gogh paintings
2. Anderson Cooper
3. New episodes of "Leverage"
4. "Gus don't be" the prisoner of marzipan, an incorrigible eskimo pie with a caramel ribbon, the one game at Chuck-E-Cheese that isn't broken
5. Foster the People
